It's all games and fun until someone, well, takes away the games and joy. Yes, even the most enjoyable internet games can be time-consuming at times.
However, while compiling this list, I came across several statements that made me consider the advantages of browser gaming (and games in general). Even if they seem to be useless.
So, playing video games can't be all terrible, can it?
From legendary reboots to brand new releases, there's something for everyone on our list of the greatest browser games.
Are you ready to start playing?

1. Prodigy
With over 50 million players, Prodigy is a fantasy-themed MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game). It's devoted to increasing children's self-esteem and developing arithmetic abilities in a fun and engaging manner.
You travel the realms of Prodigy as a young wizard, fighting monsters and bosses! (You must answer sets of problems that adjust to your math level in order to win.) With each fight, your wizard gets closer to discovering the long-lost keystones that will unlock the Academy's mysteries.
2. Powerline.io
Remember when you used to play Snake on your indestructible Nokia phone? You're not simply a neon snake in this edition; you're vying for dominance with other neon snakes.
Beam across the field to devour the cubes that emerge and grow longer when another snake dies. But be careful not to collide with other snakes, otherwise, you'll transform into cubes and have to respawn in your original size.
Slither among other neon snakes if you want to increase speed. This sends electrical impulses through your body, giving you speed that you may utilize to compel other snakes to crawl into you!
3. RuneScape
Jagex launched RuneScape, a point-and-click MMORPG set in the enormous mediaeval fantasy world of Gielinor, in January 2001. Explore a world populated with different races and guilds all pursuing dominance while taking part in over 200 missions.
You have the option of training in Combat, Artisan, Gathering, Support, or Elite talents. As you go through the game, your abilities will improve, allowing you to accomplish additional missions.
4. NoBrakes.io
To steer, just use your arrow keys, and you're off to the races! NoBrakes.io is a multiplayer racing game in which you must reach checkpoints in order to gain a competitive edge by using power-ups that increase your speed or slow down others.
Isn't it straightforward? Yes, until you realize this isn't your typical race. Checkpoints may appear behind you if you're at the front of a queue, for example. As a result, you must be prepared for everything!
5. BrowserQuest
This browser game allows you to explore a digital world using just your web browser. Put yourself in the shoes of a teenage warrior on the lookout for companions, adventure, and riches.
It is entirely up to you whether you fight opponents alone or in a group. However, don't forget to gather the treasure! In BrowserQuest, it will get you a long way.
6. Everybody Edits
Chris Benjaminsen, a developer and entrepreneur, developed this real-time multiplayer platform game. However, it is the players who may create levels for others to accomplish.
Although you don't compete with other players directly, their in-game inventions may have an indirect impact on you.
Because "everyone edits," this one-of-a-kind browser game offers players the option of playing the game or playing with the game.
7. AdventureQuest
AdventureQuest is a single-player role-playing game in which you design your own character, choose a class, and battle hordes of enemies. You may be a ninja, wizard, warrior, rogue, or paladin, depending on your personality (to name just a few).
Magical abilities, hundreds of objects, and over 700 creatures abound in the AdventureQuest universe. Participate in a variety of tasks! The more victories you have, the stronger your character becomes and the farther you go.
8. Pokémon Showdown
This online combat simulator is enjoyed by both children and adults. It's like being able to play the Pokémon video games without having to do any effort. You don't have to wait to rest or level up; you may go right into the combat.
You may create your own team if you have a certain Pokémon in mind, or you can join a random one and fight with any Pokémon you receive. Instead of trying to "catch them all," you may now try to "defeat them all!"
9. Neopets
Neopets, probably one of the greatest web games, was launched in November 1999 by game creators Adam and Donna Powell. Neopets is a virtual pet website where users may buy and care for virtual pets using neo cash.
Neopets is still alive and well 20 years later, due to its popular events, daily, pet customization, and community.
10. Gartic.io
Do you recall playing Pictionary or Draw Something like a kid? Gartic.io may be summarised in three terms, similar to those games: draw, guess, and win! Up to ten players may participate in this online sketching game.
At the start of each game, one participant will choose a word at random and draw it, while the other of the players must attempt to guess the word correctly.
