ESL has released their CS:GO event schedule for the remainder of 2021 and 2022, which includes modifications to the ESL Pro Tour circuit's structure, as well as an extension of the ESL Pro League (EPL), one of the most renowned CS:GO events.
Every event on the ESL Pro Tour circuit will be under ESL's banner starting in 2022. ESL Challenger is the new moniker for DreamHack Open events. The ESEA Premier, which presently qualifies players for the EPL, has been renamed the ESL Challenger League.
The DreamHack Open tournaments were not officially affiliated with the ESL Pro Tour, although they did award places in Master-level ESL Pro Tour events. All ESL Challenger-level event winners will proceed to the EPL Conference stage next year, where they may qualify for the main league and compete against the top CS:GO teams in the world. Tomorrow, the tournament organiser will reveal all of the information about the new EPL structure.
In the remaining months of 2021, there will be three ESL Pro Tour Masters and Championship events, including IEM Fall, the last Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event, and two Challenger tournaments. ESL also said that it is in talks with Valve about hosting a CS:GO Major in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2022. The tournament was supposed to take place in 2020, however, it was postponed owing to the coronavirus outbreak.
ESL plans to host six Masters events in 2022, including IEM visits in Katowice, Cologne, China, and the United States. Challengers tournaments will be held in the United States, Spain, Australia, and the Netherlands, as well as four Challenger League seasons.
