One Indian Team sitting in England watching a young Indian team playing in Sri Lanka chasing a stiff target after losing wickets up early and then a young Surya Kumar Yadav and later Deepak Chahar - A bowler somehow snatching victory from the jaws of defeat and that too with a ‘Dhonisque’ temperament by patiently playing off Hasaranga while believing in himself that he could make inroads with the others and then going onto score 69 runs of 82 balls and hereby helping Indian seal the series and win by 3 wickets. Maybe he learned this from the master himself while playing under him in CSK. Not just us, even Ashish Nehra thinks so. This is how the second ODI unfolded and this is how India sealed the series too.
Now, with the series in the bag, the Indian team would be looking to make a few changes and maybe even hand in a debut to Sanju Samson - the talented wicketkeeper-batsman who has been knocking on the blocks for quite some time now. Few of the other players too might be given a game. Krishnappa Gowtham, Nitish Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, Devdutt Padikkal, and Chetan Sakariya are all roaring and edging to go and what Indian Team does should be quite interesting to see especially considering the fact that it is Mr. Dependable Rahul Dravid who is the coach of this young Indian side.
While the Indian side have the freedom to experiment and the problem of plenty, unfortunately, their counterparts Sri Lanka don't have either of the luxuries. They would be keen to avoid yet another series whitewash in the limited-overs format but while also having the problem of not having a lot of squad depth to choose from.
Sri Lanka played their hearts out, make no mistake about it. A young team, A young captain, some players playing their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th ODI’s respectively and yet they gave this very talented Indian team a run for its money. Actually, that literally had it in the bag when India was 7 down and 80 were required off the last 15 years only for Deepak Chahar to come and snatch victory from their hands at the very last minute.
After having played only four ODI’s in his international career and having scored a steady 65 to help Sri Lanka set a more than Competitive total, This was Asalanka’s reaction after the game.
"We're all emotional - the team and coaches are all emotional, We're a young team. We haven't won much recently, and we're trying to do our best to play together for our country. Everyone tried hard and took it to the final over, but unfortunately, we couldn't win."

This ODI could well match the excerpts of the previous ODI and with India having won the series and looking to give new faces a crack at the International level, this could be Sri Lanka’s opportunity to cash in and deliver a big blow. While the chances of a turnaround seem very high, we still predict India to win the series and seal the series 3-0 with yet another handsome win.
