A regional league for mobile games, the MPL is the official regional league for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang game. It acts as a qualifier for both the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia (SEA) Championship as well as the Mobile Legends World Championship. The MPL presently has seven regions: Indonesia (ID), the Philippines (PH), Malaysia (MY), Singapore (SG), and the United Kingdom (UK) (SG). Cambodia (KH), Brazil (BR), and Myanmar (MM) are the three countries involved (MM).
The Myanmar Premier League (MPL) has been postponed owing to the political unrest in the area. There is no qualifying stage for the MPL leagues in Indonesia and the Philippines since they are built on a franchise concept that removes the necessity for one. The remainder of the MPL regions competes in their own qualifying rounds before entering the regular season of the league.

When was the first time MPL was established?
Since the official release of Mobile Legends in July 2016, Moonton has been pushing the game's competitive environment by hosting a number of small-scale esports events. It is not until the year 2018 that the first MPL regions are officially created and operational. Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Myanmar were the countries that hosted the inaugural official season of the MPL on their territory. Malaysia and Singapore, on the other hand, shared the same league at the time, and this continued until Singapore officially got its own league season, which began in 2021.
The top-tier teams from the inaugural MPL Seasons in each area were selected to represent their respective regions at the MSC 2018, the second official Southeast Asian Mobile Legends tournament. It was during this period that the Filipino team, Aether Main, who was the reigning winner of the MPL PH Season 1, won the championship title for the MSC 2018.
A franchise-based model for MPL Indonesia would be implemented, according to Moonton, who made the announcement in 2019. This has a slew of benefits for both companies and their professional athletes, including shared income, financial stability, and the possibility of commercialization of their products.
In 2021, the MPL League will be held in the United Kingdom.
Quite a lot has happened in the MPL esports landscape since it was originally launched. Political instability in the area forced MPL Myanmar to postpone the start of its sixth season in 2021. Consequently, Burmese Ghouls, one of the most dominant teams in Mobile Legends, was compelled to reveal its squad lineup, which had been published on the organization's official Facebook page back in July 2021.
MPL Singapore got its inaugural season this year, separating it from MPL Malaysia, which was the first season for Singapore. At the time of writing, MPL MY was in the midst of its 8th season, while MPL Singapore was in the midst of its second.
As part of the MPL PH Season 8 transition, the league adopted a franchise-based format, similar to that used by the MPL Indonesia, providing organizations and professional players in the area with a much more stable esports environment overall.
Moonton officially announced the MPL Brazil league in August 2021, making it the first MPL league to be established outside of the Southeast Asian area. As part of its collaboration with Smart Axiata, the region's major telecommunications provider and organizer of the MPL, Cambodia will launch its own league.
Taking a look at what happened in the year 2021, it seems that Mobile Legends is gradually expanding its influence outside of the Southeast Asian area. Currently, the MPL League is held in Brazil, which is the only area outside of the SEA to do so. The winners of each MPL Region will be awarded a spot in the upcoming M3 World Championships in the United States of America.
A number of qualifying events will be held in regions that do not have an official MPL league, such as the M3 Arabia Major in the Middle East and the M3 World Championship North American (NA) Qualifier 2021 in the North American area.
As a result, given the development of the esports scene for Mobile Legends in the year 2021, it will be fascinating to see which areas will be getting their own MPL league in the future.

Conclusion
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed and published by Moonton, a subsidiary of ByteDance. It was released for iOS and Android devices in 2015. The game, which was originally released in 2016, has gained widespread popularity in Southeast Asia, and it was one of the titles selected for the inaugural medal event esports competition at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines, which will take place in July.
The lawsuit was filed in July 2018 by Tencent (which also developed a similar game, Arena of Valor), on behalf of Riot Games, against Moonton's CEO Watson Xu Zhenhua (who had previously worked for Tencent as one of Tencent's senior employees), for violating a law regarding non-competition agreements, as well as Mobile Legends' plagiarism of League of Legends, and was subsequently dismissed by the Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People's Court.
