Sniper video games are all about perching on top of a building and using a high-caliber weapon to punch holes in bad people from a mile away. The greatest sniper games live on moments like this, whether it's the difficulty of correcting for bullet drop or the simple joy of seeing a bunch of opponents fear as you pick out the unfortunate bastards one by one.
Unfortunately, there aren't many games that are exclusively dedicated to making the player feel like the greatest ghost warrior, but there are plenty of sniper games with realistic sniping mechanics and sniper missions to satiate your itchy trigger finger. Our sniper games collection includes anything from military simulations to more relaxed games where you may make the occasional error or even abandon the sniper gun altogether.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts
Contracts, the newest installment in the Sniper Ghost Warrior series, transports you to five distinct places in Siberia, each with its own set of goals and duties. The icy wilds are aesthetically beautiful, providing the ideal setting for displaying your well-performed stealth sniper abilities.
Contracts include a variety of gadgets to enhance the tactical sniping experience, including a new Dynamic Reticule System to handle the variables inherent in setting up the ideal headshot instead of the old-fashioned red dot approach. The open-world of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a welcome contrast to the traditional missions of the previous two Sniper Ghost Warrior titles.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
For the sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior, City Interactive did an excellent job of addressing the many problems that plagued the original game - they improved the AI, cleaned up the level design, and, most significantly, made the game all about shooting. That creates a much slower, leaner experience, which is precisely what a sniper game should be like.
The sniper mechanics itself is perhaps the most significant change in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. Environmental effects that would send a seemingly easy shot careening off the screen or falling embarrassingly short are no longer available. Wind direction and distance must still be observed, but they've been reduced to more realistic levels.
The Sniper: Ghost Warrior series is a bit cheesy for most people's tastes, but as far as sniper games go, it's hard to top. If you're looking for more, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 offers a few major improvements over the previous game, like an open-world map and mission design, crafting, and reworked opponent AI. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 multiplayer was also available after a little wait.
Escape From Tarkov
Escape From Tarkov is a lot of different things. You enter a match with rudimentary equipment in the hopes of killing and looting something more valuable before withdrawing. Because you lose everything if you die, ambushes and stealth techniques are common, making sniping a particularly effective approach in Escape From Tarkov.
While you won't be battling over long enough distances for bullet drop to be a factor, Escape From Tarkov places a premium on armor and bullet calibers, making a strong sniper rifle loaded with armor-piercing rounds almost useless.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
In Ubisoft's newest Ghost Recon, there's plenty of sniper action to be enjoyed. The Sharpshooter class is introduced in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, along with a number of sniping bonuses to complement your loadout. This Ghost Recon Breakpoint class is based on sniping and contains features like "longer breath while aiming" and sniper rifle and DMR boosts. The TAC50, HTI, and Scorpio are among the strongest weapons in Ghost Recon Breakpoint and maybe discovered in treasure dumps, crates, and blueprints all around the fictitious island of Auroa.
Breakpoint also includes tiered loot, which improves your gun's accuracy or mobility by adding additional perks. You may also use the Ghost Recon Breakpoint gunsmith to improve your sniper rifle and spend old gun components on upgrading your favorite sniper. If you're going to play open-world games like this by yourself, sniper rifles are the weapon of choice.
Sniper Elite 4
It's impossible to grow tired of shooting Nazis. Sniper Elite 4 continues the series' evolution from linear stealth to a sniper's fantasy sandbox game, with a move to fascist Italy to commemorate the event. Unless you've managed to calm your pulse rate, anticipate realistic bullet drop and lots of scope wobble in this sniper game.
The franchise's gruesome pièce de résistance: X-ray kill cams, is further fleshed up in Sniper Elite 4. You can now see the internal damage caused by stabbing an opponent in the back, or shrapnel streaming out from a nearby explosion, in addition to shooting out a nazi's testicle from a mile away. What else are sniper games about if not waving your sights over a bad guy's head, pressing the trigger, and seeing their skull explode with sick fascination?
Sniper Elite 4's sandbox levels, on the other hand, represent the greatest step forward from its predecessors. Each one is packed with possibilities, whether it's side missions, a plethora of possible environmental kills, or hidden sniper nests just waiting to be discovered and used. Each level begs to be replayed and retried again and over again, as we discovered when writing our Sniper Elite 4 PC review, which means more sniper game brilliance for your buck.
In addition, Deathstorm, a DLC mini-campaign in which you invade a naval station, added additional single-player content to Sniper Elite 4. Following the game's debut, this campaign add-on was published in chapters with free multiplayer modes and maps. Sniper Elite 4 has a lot to offer in terms of sniper games.
