Nothing beats sitting down with a good friend and playing a decent co-op game. The creators of the Saints Row series recognized the appeal of co-op and included it in Saints Row 2. This allows two buddies to join up to tear Stilwater and its criminal gangs to shreds in a number of ways, including objectives in Saints Row 2.
Co-op in Saints Row 2 made tough objectives simpler to complete and some of the more enjoyable missions even more enjoyable. For you and a friend, co-op made the following tasks a lot better and simpler. Note that this only applies to narrative missions; there are no side activities in the game that aren't story missions.

10. Salting The Earth...Again
Salting The Earth, the Ultor corporation's second-to-last mission... The Boss tries to murder numerous Ultor executives onboard a boat once again. The sheer amount of opponents to face may be overwhelming, but the actual problem here is getting to the boat.
Ultor will pursue you with a helicopter equipped with lock-on missiles that are difficult to avoid. The helicopter will only be able to pursue one of you if there is a second player present. Enjoy massacring numerous business execs who are constantly attempting to screw you over whenever the two of you get on the boat.
9. Bank Error In Your Favor
Payback can be satisfying, and in this task against the Brotherhood group, you'll get it against Jessica, the Brotherhood's leader's lover and the one responsible for Carlos's murder. You mostly have to deal with a large number of police when you kidnap Jessica at a bank and then drive to the college while being followed by cops.
Similar to Salting The Earth... Again, having a friend lightens the burden and gives you someone to concentrate on the police. If you play this task in co-op, you'll be able to retain Jessica's vehicle, which you won't be able to get otherwise.

8. The Siege
The Saints decide it's time to attack the Brotherhood's main stronghold after stealing a weapon shipment from them (which you had seen earlier in the Brotherhood storyline). The attack is every bit as dramatic as it is talked up to be, and it's much more fun if you bring a friend along to test out the new weaponry.
Brotherhood thugs are everywhere, and having an additional pair of eyes may help you take less damage on this task. At the conclusion of the game, there is a difficult final battle with Maero, who carries a mini-gun that may shred your health. Someone may assist in deflecting Maero's withering fire while the other concentrates on causing him harm.
7. Showdown
Showdown is the Brotherhood's last task, and it pits the Boss against Maero in a giant truck, along with other Brotherhood members in smaller vehicles. You have a wide open area to allow you and a buddy some breathing room, but dealing with all of the cars is a difficult task.
In comparison to playing Showdown normally, co-op makes the experience simpler since you have some support. Similar to the Siege, one player may concentrate on a certain number of enemy trucks while the other concentrates on Maero and any other vehicles that may obstruct the path. Once Maero has completed his task, the two of you may finally enjoy avenging Carlos together.
6. Riot Control
You must defend Shaundi and Pierce as they attempt to load boxes of Loa Dust onto a truck in this Sons of Samedi assignment. However, you'll have to contend with a horde of addicts who have been granted permission by the Samedi to retain whatever narcotics they find.
In the warehouse, the addicts aren't much of a problem, but when you have to escort the truck back to the hideaway, they become a problem. They may seem overwhelming at times, and having a friend play co-op with you can help ease the burden.

5. Shopping Maul
The Shopping Maul objective has you and Shaundi attack the Samedi's leader outside a shopping mall and then pursue him around within the mall.
The Samedi will attack you with all they've got, even a humvee with a mini-gun to defend the general. Even with Shaundi, it's a lot to manage for one person. When you're down, a buddy can help you get back up and distract the other Samedi criminals while you concentrate on the general's car. You can only get the general's special limo if you play in co-op, so make sure you have a friend with you when you play.
4. Rest In Peace
Rest In Peace is the game's worst mission, with you and Gat defending yourselves against Shogo Akuji when he interrupts Aisha's burial with other Ronin, interrupting Gat's sorrow. Shogo may be brought to justice by the two of you wiping out his Ronin together before ultimately taking him down.
It's also nice to have a buddy to console you after the two of you assisted Gat in burying Shogo alive as a kind of punishment. Sure, he was a jerk, but did he deserve such a fate?
3. One Man's Junk
Now that the son has been dealt with, it's time to deal with Shogo's father, Kazuo, the Ronin's commander. Another irritating helicopter launches explosive barrels at you in One Man's Junk until you reach the boardwalk and are confronted by numerous Ronin.
You'll have to confront the Ronin's last stand together as you kill off Kazuo on a variety of traditional Chinese boats, fully avenging Aisha and restoring peace to Gat.
2...And A Better Life
What a fitting conclusion to Saints Row 2. In this mission, the two of you will attempt to eliminate Ultor's main boss, Dane Vogel, who has been a thorn in the Saints' side for most of the game. As you pursue Ultor through the Saints Row neighborhood and into the Phillips building, the district's largest structure, the entire power of their security will be unleashed on you – needless to say, here is where having a buddy playing co-op will come in useful.
As the two of you work together to establish the Saints as the ones in control of Stilwater, having a buddy will make things a little more enjoyable and simpler.

1. Revelation
The greatest sort of agony is betrayal, and Saints Row fans felt it when it was revealed that Julius, the leader of the Saints in the first Saints Row, was the one who tried to blow you up while wiping out the original Saints. After completing the assignment, the two of you will face Julius in the church where you first joined the Saints in Saints Row.
But it's all a set-up: Dex, a former Saint who has gone traitor, lured you and Julius there to murder you. As you deal with helicopters, chasing cars, and barricades, your friend can assist fight off the Ultor Masako teams and relieve the tension of the chase from the church to the amphitheater (which is a long trip away). Finish the assassins so Julius may show his lack of remorse before ultimately burying the old man.
