Melbourne Stars have been one of the most interesting teams of the tournament considering the fearless brand of cricket they play. And when the Captain of the team is Glenn Maxwell, it makes the opposition team fear you more. They have been one of the most consistent teams in the tournament but have not been able to leave their mark or seize their moments in crucial knock-out games. However they will looking to start afresh and maybe this time just go out there and finally grab that Big Bash trophy.

1. Joe Clarke -
He is one of the young and exciting Wicket-keeper batsman there are in the World right now. He’s just 25 but he has played in BBL, PSL, T10, The Hundred and mostly in major T20 competitions in the world. He is good at finding gapes and playing strokes and can hurt any team in the powerplay.
2. Nick Larkin -
Nick Larkin is a destructive opening batsman who is originally from New South Wales but has played for Ireland. Currently he is 31 years of age and has plenty of experience. Expect him to come good and provide a few decent starts for the Melbourne Stars.
3. Marcus Stonis -
A regular feature in Australia’s white ball set-up be it 20 over or 50 over Cricket, Marcus Stonis is a gem of a player to have in your ranks. No boundary in the world is big enough for him and he is an absolute power hitter. While chasing no target is big enough for him and he has pulled off some superb heists over the years and most of them alone. He can get you wickets or bowl economically with the ball and is a more than handy bowler who has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. He is a brilliant fielder too. He was one of the key members of Australia’s World Cup victory.
4. Glenn Maxwell -
The Big Show. After AB De Villiers' retirement he is undoubtedly the most exciting T20 player there is. Watching him bat is an absolute joy. He can play some sublime shots that will just leave you on WOW and he can certainly clear the big boundaries easily. When it’s his day, the game is over. With time and experience he has become more settled and that makes him even more dangerous. He had a fantastic IPL as well. He has now been bowling consistently as well and has been taking wickets quite regularly. He is the captain of the Star’s set-up and one of the biggest reasons as to why they have been so consistent over the years.
5. Andre Russell -
Well, if Stoinis doesn’t get you, Maxwell will. If Maxwell doesn’t get you, Russell definitely will. Introducing the newest member of the Stars’ line-up - one of the biggest match winners in the game of T20 Cricket - Andre Russell. He has finally made his comeback into the BBL after a few years and has added more firepower to this already strong batting line-up. And not just with the bat, he is equally good with the bowl. Powerplay, middle overs or at the death - Andre is always ready to blow the opposition away.
6. Hilton Cartwright -
Another power-hitter and a very handy batsman at the death, Hilton Cartwright rose to the ranks after playing some handy knocks in the previous years’ of the BBL when he used to play for the Perth Scorchers. However life at Melbourne Stars has not been so happy for him but surely with the talent and the power he has coupled with his experience, he is on course to come good for the stars sooner or later.

7. Joe Burns -
Initially a member of the Brisbane Heat, Joe Burns is firstly a terrific fielder who has taken some blunders over the years. He is an experienced campaigner and also a very good leader. He has played with the likes of Baz Macullum and a host of the T20 veterans that has really helped in shaping up his game. He is ever dependent and he is very good at rotating the strike too.
8. Nathan Coulter-Nile -
A champion bowler and champion lower order batsman. Nathan Coulter-Nile has been an exceptional player for a long while now. There is no league in the world where he has not played. He has been a key player for the Australian team for the better part of a decade now. He should be a key player for the Stars’ line-up.
9. Billy Stanlake -
Big Billy Stanlake is one of the tallest bowlers in the world. Thanks to his height and his power, he can find pace on any wicket. He is someone who is dangerous with the ball and in a format where batsmen look to go after the bowlers, Big Billy is the one who tries to go after the batsman and more often than not even succeeds in doing the same.

10. Adam Zampa -
Most Pundits believe that the man of the series award should have been given to Adam Zampa for his terrific performance throughout the World Cup. He was Australia’s Ace bowler in the tournament and that is the case wherever he goes and whichever team he plays for. He is great at picking wickets and breaking partnerships and is also hard to put away.
