After a year of intense competition, the greatest Valorant players are beginning to separate themselves from the others. Some players thrive in certain positions and outperform the rest of the field. We look at the most courageous players in each position and area.
As VCT Masters Reykjavik concludes and Stage 3 begins, this page will be updated to include participants from all competitive areas.

Best Valorant Players
Selection of a basic top player in Valorant is tough due to the diversity of positions and playstyles. Especially given the absence of international competition and the fact that many of the teams have limited screen time. However, based on what we've learned thus far, we can compile a list of players that thrive in each of Valorant's roles. We can build a more comprehensive list of players once the VCT Masters Reykjavik and Masters Berlin are completed, which will include participants from additional areas. The present list in this state is mostly “western” oriented.
With that in mind, let's look at the top Valorant Players in each position in 2021.
TenZ – Best Duelist
Tyson "TenZ" Ngo is quickly establishing himself as the greatest duelist the game has ever seen. In both ranked and competitive play, his Jett and Reyna playstyle of high aggression and duel heavy has carried his side to victory. TenZ is a Cloud9 streamer who is presently representing Sentinels instead of Sinatraa in the Reykjavik Masters.
TenZ may be given a permanent place on the squad shortly, based on how dominating Sentinels were after bringing him in. Sentinels are now the hottest team in Valorant betting across the world.
Sinatraa – Best Initiator
Despite the current controversy that has engulfed Sinatraa, he remains one of the greatest Valorant players in the world. Sinatraa popularised the usage of Ares and Odin in tandem with the Sova drone and recon arrow, allowing for a plethora of wall bang kills in both solo queue and professional competition. Sinatraa's success on Sova may be attributed to his ability to effectively use his equipment, a talent he honed throughout his successful career in Overwatch, an ability-heavy FPS. Despite taking a hiatus and being unable to play competitively owing to the current controversy, he remains one of the greatest Valorant players. Sinatraa, who returned to the stream after a two-month sabbatical and immediately dominated games, will remain one of the greatest initiators if he continues his competitive career.
Grimm – Best Sentinel
Grim isn't the highest-ranked Sentinel player, and he doesn't participate in competitive play. With his many off-angle and surprising barriers, Grim has pioneered the battle Sage playstyle. Grim's sage walls have even been researched and replicated for usage in professional play by a number of top players. Sentinels like Sage were intended to be highly preferred on the defenders' side, yet Grim has excelled with Sage even on the attackers' side, thus distinguishing himself from other Sentinel players.
Grim regularly posts films to YouTube, yet despite his large library of footage, Grim continues to discover new Sage barriers. He is one of the greatest Valorant players in the world simply because of his mastery of the champion. His films may be seen on his dedicated Grim YouTube account.

Zombs – Best Controller
Zombs is now a member of the Sentinels, North America's best squad. Omen and Astra are two main controllers that Zombs excels at. Many Valorant controllers are too passive and depend too much on utility. Zombz's ability to balance his usage of utility at crucial times while also holding sites down with precision gunplay distinguishes him as one of the game's best controllers. Despite being a controller, Zombs consistently ranks at the top of his squad, which is a tough accomplishment given the professional scene's use of team compositions with two or more duelists.
Who is Europe's finest Valorant player?
ScreaM is now a member of Team Liquid, who has won the Valorant Champions Tour 2021: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Finals, making them Europe's best team. ScreaM is often considered as Europe's greatest player owing to his ability to single-handedly alter the result of a game. With Belgium hitting several significant milestones in the First Strike Regional Finals at the end of 2020, ScreaM has a strong foothold in the EU. Scoring 39 kills, fragging 10 first bloods, and even scoring 40 headshots are all ScreaM accomplishments in single levels. ScreaM's experience playing against elite international CS:GO teams suggests that he will adapt better to teams from different regions than other players with less expertise. Team Liquid is now the Valorant betting favorite for the upcoming Valorant Masters in Rejkjavik.
Who is North America's best player?
While there are many contenders for the title of the greatest player in North America, we have placed Asuna first. Asuna is a member of the 100 Thieves squad, and she is known for constantly top fragging and leading the team to victory. The squad had swept the NA VCT Stage 2 Challengers 1, but had to withdraw from the VCT Stage 2 Challenger Finals due to an early exit. However, Asuna's individual strength is unaffected by the team's failure to qualify for Masters.
At just 17 years old, Asuna has a lot of room for improvement, which will allow him to compete for the title of greatest Valorant player in the world. At this point, he's being likened to S1mple in his early days of CS:GO in terms of Valiant.

Special mention
Tarik has just left the Evil Geniuses' competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup. Despite just recently starting up and regularly streaming Valorant, Tarik has already reached Radiant at a breakneck pace. Tarik got to Radiant mainly by transferring his CS:GO accuracy, reaction speed, and game sense to Valorant, which is currently in the top 0.3 percent of players. He'll most certainly continue to grow and be regarded as one of the greatest valorous players in the world as time goes on, particularly as Tarik has a better understanding of agent usefulness.
