Certainly one of the most loved teams in the tournament, The Hobart Hurricanes as their name suggests are the team that will blow you away with their scintillating display on the field. They have their own style of playing the game and are one of the strongest teams in the competition. 1. Darcy Short -
The main-frame of this Hobart set-up, Darcy Short has been the leading run scorer in this competition for as long as one can remember. Darcy Short is someone who plays very long innings for the Hurricanes and that too on a consistent basis. It was his heroics in the BBL for the Hobart Hurricanes that got him a national call-up. He is someone who has all the shorts in the book though onside is his preferred area. However he has some issues against spin which he has addressed as the years have gone by.
2. Matthew Wade -
After his heroics in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, he surely needs no introduction. Even though he has been around for quite some time, Wade is still good as he first came and now with experience on his side, he has certainty become a lot better. Together he and Darcy Short are one of the best opening pairs in the history of BBL. They have been giving the Hurricanes some sublime starts at a quick pace and that too with a certain degree of consistency.
3. Peter Handscomb -
He has been in the Australian set-up for quite a while and has made a name for himself with some amazing innings over the years. However he has fallen through the cracks over the years. However he has plenty of experience and class to turn it around and this is what he will be planning to do in the BBL.
4. Ben McDermott -
The most dependant middle order batsman for the Hobart Hurricanes, Ben MecDermott’s heroics in the BBL earned him a national call-up to Australia’s International side. He is someone who has all the shorts in the book and he can hit those big and mighty sixes. He can plan an innings and especially while chasing, he can play a finisher’s role.
5. Tim David -
After he got his chance in the BBL, Singapore’s Tim David became a sensation in the shorter format of the game. After his heroics in the BBL last year, he has been a part of T20 leagues throughout the world. He even earned an IPL call up and even played a few games for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
6. Caleb Jewell -
24 year old left handed batsman Caleb Jewell is another exciting talent the Hurricanes have in their power-packed line up. He can strike a long ball and also a great strike rotator who can keep the score-board ticking.
7. Nathan Ellis -
Nathan Ellis is a terrific T20 bowler and he has certainly made a name for himself. He is a class cricketer with a great cricketing brain and he has his huge bag of tricks up his sleeve to go alongside his express pace. His recent performances even earned him a national call up. He is a member of Australia’s T20 World Cup winning squad. Need we say more?
8. Riley Meredith -
Pace, Pace and More Pace. And sometimes it comes with pin point yorkers. He is someone who bowls regularly at 145-150 mph. He has a certain degree of control in his bowling and also someone who is quite economical no matter what stage of the game he is bowling in. He is the most important piece of the Jigsaw Puzzle of Hobart’s bowling line up.
9. Scott Boland -
The Big man Scott Boland has been around for quite sometime now. He has played all three formats for Australia and has plenty of experience in the bag.
He has some good tricks up his sleeve like the slower short ball or even slower full tosses and he is someone who has been there for a while so he knows what length needs to be bowled in what situation.

10. Sandeep Lamichane -
One of the biggest success stories in the game of cricket, Sandeep’s story is an example of how talent and hardwork can take you places, no matter where you are from. Coming from a humble background in Nepal, Sandeep has now played in almost all T20 tournaments around the world going toe to toe with the best there is. He is a very young but experienced T20 bowler and is very hard to put away. He is talented and has lots of tricks up his sleeve which makes him a very great addition to any team in the world he plays for no matter what the conditions are.
